Krishna Ratnaabhishekam

This is a depiction of Ratnaabhishekam on the Yogeswara Paramatma Swaroopa Sri Krishnan. The painting shows Gopikas performing the abhishekam on Lord Krishna with rare and attractive ratnas (precious stones). The inspiration of this painting is from a very unique painting which I had seen at the Padmanabhapuram Palace, Thuckalay, Kanyakumari District in Tamil Nadu. The palace was the original base for Travancore Kings.

Lord Krishna is depicted with Ashtabhuja (eight arms) holding Shanku, Chakram, Thamarai, Gada and odakkuzhal (flute). He is also holding the Yogasthitha Mudra.
